Gnosis: Definition

Knowledge-Trascendental Wisdom:

Based on the Septuagint or Pentateuch, the translation for the hebrew word  (דעת da`ath) "Knowledge" in the Greek language is γνῶσις "Gnosis".

The Pillars on which Gnosis is founded are: "Science, Art, Philosophy, & Misticism"; however, as an Entity by itself, it goes way beyond conventional wisdom; It is a "Functionalism of Consciousness"; a Substance that is prior to man's existence on Earth.

This is not an everyday knowledge, and definitely not book learning; it is Insight, it is Intuition, it is that ability to know everything about yourself; to know that you have a spark of the Divine inside of you, and to recognize the God that you profess to be the God that is outside, is the same as that spark of the Divine that is within you.

Gnosis is engraved in every archaeological artifact: In every niche, pyramid, tomb, etc. The interesting thing is to be able extract Gnosis from the different archaeological pieces found in all corners of the world, precisely, wisely and according to rules; "Utilizing the Scalpel of Consciousness".

Gnosis is not a Science, but it relies on natural and scientific laws, it is not Art but its primary purpose is to acquire inner beauty, it is not a Philosophy, but it projects a clear vision and interpretation of man and of the world, and it is not a Religion, but its main goal is the union of man with God. It contains pure esoterism and occultism, the mystical-magical thinking of the wise, and encloses within itself the secrets of life and death; but its essential purpose, is to take the human being to the "Intimate Self-Realization of his Profound-Inner Being".

Gnostic Anthropology:

A Quick Historic Overview:

The Gnostics Essenes were the primary professors of early Christianity; they were a very ancient hebrew sect with a large Archaic Knowledge, that lived about 100 BC and 100 AD; precisely, on the shores of the Dead Sea.

According to Philo of Alexandria and other writers of the 1st century AD, the Essenes shared their possessions, lived by agriculture and handicrafts, they were also great lovers of peace, and so refused to take arms or manufacture warlike weapons; moreover they proscribed slavery, believed in God, the creator, in the immortality of the soul and in a future state of retribution. Their primordial characteristic was the doctrine of love--love to God, love of virtue, and love of mankind. They practiced celibacy, inward purity, purity of thought and lived a life of self-imposed poverty.

The Essenes, above all secret societies of the epoch, were wise in the fullest sense of the word, with a unique perspective of God and the Universe. Hebrew or Aramaic Sources and the Qumran scrolls, designated them as "Community of Saints". The Talmud called them "Morning Baptists" (tovilé shahrit) and Arabic writings refer to them as "Magaritas" (people from the caves). Obviously they made great transformations within the psychosomatic, the mystical-sensory and within the transcendental aspect: They reached the Awakening of the Consciousness.

Once upon a time, the cradle of Christianity and perhaps the Sunshine of the world. Sadly, by 100 AD, Romans had persecuted and exterminated them, and Christianity had become a “Separate Sect”. Some managed to survive and adopted like chameleons, foreign faiths, that eventually driven by their influence, altered their gnostic perspectives and the genuine teachings of the Lord Savior.

In Palestine, Ieshua Ben Pandira "Jesus Christ" was once an active member of this secret society, where he attained the degrees of Perfect Master and Grand Elect. The doctrine of Jesus is the doctrine of the Essenes, the doctrine of the Nazarenes, Peratisens or Peratas, etc.

Jesus founded the Gnostic Church. The Gnostic Church that existed in the times of Saint Augustine (354–430 C.E.) "Dr. Of the Church". This is the Church which was known by Jeronimo, Empedocles, Saint Thomas, Marcion de Ponto, Clement of Alexandria, Tertulian, Saint Ambrosio, Harpocrates and all of the first Fathers of the Church. In that epoch, the Church was named "Catholic Gnostic Church". The Roman Catholic Church in its present form was not founded by Jesus. This Roman Church is a deviation, a fallen branch of the Holy Gnosticism. The Coptic Church in Egypt is probably the oldest deviation of the Gnostic Church of Jesus Christ.

The Pistis Sophia (Πίστις Σοφία), "Gnostic Bible" (1773) and the Nag Hammadi Library (1945) represent the rebirth of Gnosis in the new era.

Isaiah Scroll

In 1947, "The Dead Sea Scrolls" were found and with great excitement, Modern Archeology revealed their existence to the world; identity that had been conceiled for over a millenia. They are written in Hebrew, Aramaic, Greek, and Nabataean, mostly on parchment, but some written on papyrus and bronze. These manuscripts have been dated to various ranges between 408 BCE and 318 CE. The Isaiah Scroll (see pic above) is the only complete biblical book surviving among the Dead Sea Scrolls. It dates from about 120 BCE.

There is no doubt that these scrolls are property of the Essenes, for which it would be worth studying them, as they contain Esoteric Transcendental Teachings that properly understood, could illuminate many dark corners of our minds.  Finding them was not mere accident as many assume; it was a gift from the Divinity to humankind.

"All Religions are precious perls entwined en the golden thread of the Divinity. They all retain eternal values; there are no false religions. All Religions are necessary, as they all fulfill their mission in life. Every religion under the sun rises, grows, develops, multiplies into many sects and dies, it has always been this way, and always will be. Religious Principles can never die; religious forms can, but the Eternal Values continue, they are always coated with new forms. Religion is inherent to life as moisture is inherent to water" =>V.M. Samael Aun Weor

All surviving secret societies from ancient times around the world were embedded & permeated by the Animic Wisdom of the Essenes, and in one way or another, across time, they have all served as structure stones for the advent or re-birth of Gnosis in our times.

"Gnosis is the Synthesis of All Faiths; the Axis where all Faiths converge"

Despite so many martyrs, and so many persecutions, the Secret Wisdom survived through time. The price had to be paid, the times had to be right, the minds had to be set, and the need had to be great, so that the Avatar of our time, the 5th of the Seven, would emerge into the light, to solve the puzzle of the ages, to unlock the door of Sapientia, and to lead us back to the point of origin.

“Samael, the Avatar of our time arrived; the path has been laid, the doors of perception are now open".

"Gnosis has fully rebirthed and its light has shined upon and continues to do so everywhere".

"The Veiled has been torn”

Siddhartha Gautama, the Buddha Sakyamuni, came to teach us the Doctrine of Chesed and Geburah: The Doctrine of the Intimate, the Doctrine of the Inner Buddha.
Ieshua Ben Pandira, Master Jesus (Aberamentho), came to teach us the Doctrine of Chokmah (The Christ): The Doctrine of the Human Soul, the Doctrine of Tiphereth, the Doctrine of the Intimate Christ, the Doctrine of the Inner Chrestos.

Each of them brought us a message of our own Being. Christ and Buddha complement each other and are both within ourselves; that is obvious!.

"Gnosis is The Way of the Balanced man"

All roads, longer or shorter, more or less hard, strive to lead man to the same destination that is "Self-Realization".
The Realization, Immortalization, is not property of any human being at birth, but they can certainly conquer it.

Gnosis is a Doctrine of the Fourth Way; whose functionalisms are based on the Way of the Fakir, The Way of the Monk, and The Way of the Yogi. It represents the best of the Christic Esoterism and the best of the Buddhist Esoterism. Gnosis is not considered a Religion, but it will be the Religion of the Future Sixth Race: Koradi
